Aged and restyled Steamer trunk coffee table

£750.00

We are excited to present this stunning Steamer Trunk, which has been beautifully restyled and thoughtfully redesigned. This unique piece will effortlessly complement both traditional and contemporary interiors alike. We have skillfully applied decoupage to the exterior and interior surfaces, creating a visually engaging design, while also incorporating an aged effect on the trunk's exterior that harmonizes beautifully with its rich history. Every area of the trunk has been meticulously sealed to ensure a robust and durable covering.

Steamer trunks first appeared in the 1800s, serving as luggage for long journeys on steamships, trains, and stagecoaches. They were ingeniously crafted to fit into the limited spaces available during travel. By the 1900s, these exquisite pieces evolved to include more intricate designs, featuring elegant brass accents and durable leather straps. This particular steamer trunk retains its original leather handles, locks, and an interior tray, adding to its charm and functionality.

It is a sizable piece, measuring 92cm wide, 52cm deep, and 37cm high, making it an ideal choice for use as a coffee table or TV stand. To enhance its practicality, we have thoughtfully added locking wheels to the base, allowing for easy movement without compromising stability.

You are welcome to view our furniture in our workshop in Somerset by appointment only. Please contact us to arrange a convenient time.
