UPCYCLING AND DECOUPAGE WORKSHOP

Student working on her vintage cocktail cabinet during her one-to-one workshop at Annie's Furniture Art

Debbie has been upcycling furniture for more than two decades now and she is frequently asked if she conducts workshops. To cater to these requests, Debbie has decided to open her workshop for a few days every month to offer one-on-one tuition. During these sessions, you will have the chance to work on your own piece of furniture while receiving guidance from Debbie at every step of the way.

Located in Taunton, Somerset, Debbie will provide support throughout the design and upcycling process, offering step-by-step guidance and sharing her expertise in colour, design, and furniture restoration.

Debbie's workshops are designed to be suitable for both beginners and experienced DIY enthusiasts alike who are interested in learning best practices in upcycling and decoupage. Her workshops are designed to cater to all skill levels. Debbie fosters creativity and freedom in a nurturing and supportive environment. Debbie's workshop provides ample room for participants to work on their projects in their own workspace.

At least two to three days are recommended - the first day will focus on prep work. Thoroughly preparing your piece for painting and apply your finished paintwork. Debbie will work with you towards a flawless finish in preparation to start decoupaging on the second day.

Day two is focused on the decoupage. Debbie will work closely with you and share her knowledge and techniques to teach you how to obtain perfect pattern matching and a crisp finish. Debbie is meticulous in her teaching and style and will guide you to learn how to obtain a flawless, professional finish.

Day three will consist of finishing off the decoupage, any snagging and finally fully sealing your piece.

If you're interested in restoring, upcycling or revamping a family treasure, exploring decoupage, or experimenting with various paint techniques, Debbie's furniture upcycling workshops are the perfect starting point for your furniture upcycling adventure. You'll learn how to upcycle and restore furniture to an exceptional professional standard in a friendly environment.

The cost is £135.00 per day. You will be required to supply your own piece of furniture, finishing paint and wallpaper. Debbie holds a small stock of wallpaper which she can sell to you per metre. All other equipment and products are supplied.

Starting small is recommended.

Client Workshop Review August 2023

I spent two days with Debbie at her Somerset workshop and had an amazing time.

Under Debbie’s effective tutoring and guidance, I was able to begin reimagining my cocktail cabinet and I am so pleased with the results!!! I still have the inside of the cabinet to finish but have come away from the workshop with the skills, knowledge and confidence to complete it by myself.

Debbie was a great teacher and was happy to share her knowledge and top tips to refurbish furniture to a very high standard.

The completed furniture Debbie has in her workshop must be seen to truly appreciate the craftsmanship, meticulous detail and love Debbie put into each piece.

Every home should own one.

Thank you again Debbie!!
